Château de Robien

Château de Robien is a protected castle in Le Fœil that was built before the French Revolution. The main structure features a semi-circular pavilion with three arcade bays and round-arched windows on the upper level, with a chapel, stables, and various outbuildings surrounding it.

The castle was built before the French Revolution and suffered damage and confiscation during that period. It was later restored around 1860 after a former servant of the estate purchased it.

The chapel on the grounds dates to the 18th century and shows the spiritual life of the estate residents. The extensive stables and outbuildings reflect how an aristocratic household organized its daily operations and work.

The castle can only be visited during special heritage days held throughout the year. Tours are available but require advance arrangements made directly with the private owners.

The de Robien family has maintained a connection to this location since 1212, making it one of the longest family-held estates in Brittany. This continuous link has shaped the care and preservation of the property across centuries.
