Château de Couëllan

The castle structure combines granite and schist stones in its construction, with remnants of historical plaster still visible on the western gable wall.

The original fifteenth-century manor belonging to the l'Hermine family was destroyed following the Battle of Saint-Jouan-de-l'Isle in 1591 and rebuilt around 1620.

The building features two notable staircases from different construction periods, including a seventeenth-century wooden staircase with an original wrought-iron railing.

The estate welcomes visitors from April 15 to June 5 on weekends and holidays, July 20 to August 15, and daily in September from 2 PM to 8 PM.

The 1836 cadastral map reveals a large southern courtyard that was later transformed into landscaped grounds during the second half of the nineteenth century.
