Château Saint-Roch

Château Saint-Roch sits on a hillside terrace with two perpendicular wings and a central porch opening to an enclosed courtyard. The structure includes a guardroom, fountain, and entrance gate among its protected areas.

The castle was built between 1860 and 1870 under architect Théodore Olivier for collector Georges de Monbrison. Its construction reflected the era when wealthy industrialists created residences combining comfort with artistic expression.

The grand salon displays decorative works by artist Edmond Lechevallier-Chevignard, including paintings depicting scenes from different historical periods. This artistic interior reflects the refined taste of wealthy collectors during the 1800s.

The castle remains private property, so visits are limited to protected exterior areas including the terrace, gate, and surrounding grounds. The architecture and gardens can be appreciated from outside while learning about the site's historical importance.

The park was designed by Edouard André in 1881 and blends Renaissance-inspired elements with ceramic tiles sourced from Château d'Ecouen. This combination of classical garden design and artistic details makes the grounds distinctly memorable.
