Buranlure

Buranlure is a castle in Boulleret with stone walls and a surrounding moat, displaying architectural elements from the 14th and 16th centuries. The structure combines defensive features with later Renaissance development across an expansive layout.

The castle dates to the Hundred Years War period and retained its defensive structures from that era. In 1769 the Vogüé family acquired the property and restored it to reflect its 1640 appearance.

The estate is woven into the wine culture of the Loire region, and its vineyards reflect the local identity that has developed around agriculture. You can feel this connection between the castle and the surrounding wine landscape as you move through the grounds.

The grounds are best explored on foot, as buildings and gardens are connected by walking paths. Visit during warmer months when all outdoor areas are fully accessible and the surroundings are most pleasant.

The property maintains ancient grape varieties and raises Solognot sheep, a rare local breed that has lived in the region for generations. These animals are adapted to the terrain and play a role in the agricultural heritage of the land.
