Château des Moulières, Historic castle in Saint-Pompain, France
The Château des Moulières features a central building with two corner pavilions, dry moats, and a terrace supported by massive buttresses.
Built in the 17th century, the castle belonged to several families, including the Brach family who owned it from 1834 until 1969.
The castle's architecture combines Parisian influences with regional elements, featuring stone-framed windows and triangular pediment dormers on the roof.
The castle received historical monument status in March 1971, protecting its facades, roofs, terraces, and moats for preservation purposes.
The monumental staircase on the river side displays square balusters and double railings that integrate with the surrounding rocky landscape.
