Église Saint-Vincent de Carcassonne, Gothic church in Carcassonne, France
Saint Vincent Church features a wide nave measuring 20 meters across, coupled with an octagonal bell tower rising 54 meters into the sky.
The church construction began in 1269, with King Philip IV granting four properties in 1308 to expand the original building from west to east.
The interior holds numerous religious artworks, including paintings by Gamelin and Mignard, along with 15th-century stained glass windows and rosettes.
Visitors can climb 232 steps to reach the top of the bell tower, which provides views across the town of Carcassonne.
The church houses a carillon system of 47 bells, making it one of the largest musical instruments in the Languedoc region.
