Château des Arcis, Renaissance castle in Meslay-du-Maine, France.

The Château des Arcis features defensive architecture with a four-story keep, moats, and a fixed bridge that replaces the traditional drawbridge.

Between 1575 and 1622, Charles de Cervon led the reconstruction of the castle, transforming the medieval structure into a residence combining defense and refinement.

The castle gardens follow late Renaissance designs with boxwood embroidery patterns, a rose garden, and walkways along the canals.

The estate welcomes visitors Friday through Monday from 1 PM to 7 PM, April through September, with admission at 6 euros for adults.

The Grand Service Building contains stables on the ground floor and an extensive hall under the roof designed for men-at-arms.
