Château de Saint-Jean-de-Chepy, Historical castle in Tullins, France.

The Château de Saint-Jean-de-Chepy is a fortified house in Tullins situated on a ten-hectare estate with ponds, streams, and landscaped grounds. The property features approximately 70 sculptures distributed throughout the landscape, creating a relationship between the historic structures and contemporary art.

The fortified house was built in the second half of the 13th century and originally belonged to the Bressieux family. In the 18th century it was renamed Château des Cordes and underwent further changes in its use and importance.

The estate hosts sculpture exhibitions in its park, bringing together architectural heritage and contemporary art. Visitors can experience this relationship between historic walls and modern artistic expressions within the same grounds.

The estate includes nineteen rooms, a swimming pool, and catering services with capacity for up to 400 people at events. Visitors should allow enough time to explore both the buildings and the extensive grounds with their scattered artworks.

The south tower contains a celestial vault painted in the 17th century depicting zodiac signs, a rare painted ensemble in France. This impressive detail reveals the artistic skill of past centuries and often goes unnoticed by casual visitors.
