Villa Sestier

Villa Sestier is a four-story residence with Art Nouveau features including asymmetrical roof lines and a veranda supported by Doric columns in Sauzet. The building combines modern design elements with classical architectural details in a cohesive composition.

Nicolas Vernon oversaw construction between 1902 and 1906, creating a house that merged older and newer building styles. The completion came during a time when Art Nouveau was reaching its height and spreading new living concepts.

The name comes from its original owner and reflects the craftsmanship tradition of the early 1900s. Today, visitors notice the carefully designed stained glass windows throughout the rooms, which filter light in distinctive ways and shape the interior spaces.

The house is only open to visitors during warmer months and should be planned accordingly in advance. It helps to start with local knowledge or travel guides, since the location sits somewhat away from main roads.

Landscape designer Gabriel Luizet integrated three separate plots into a connected park with an artificial pond. This pond was originally a practical system for water management and now shapes the green surroundings of the house.
