The castle features a square courtyard with a main residence in the southeast, a round tower, and a moat surrounding the entire structure.
Built in the 13th century, the castle underwent substantial reconstruction between 1600 and 1620 while retaining elements from the 13th and 14th centuries.
The chapel dedicated to the Holy Family, located in the northeast corner of the courtyard, demonstrates the religious significance of the estate.
This monument stands southwest of the village, near the D18 road connecting Saint-Hilaire-des-Landes to Saint-Sauveur-des-Landes.
The La Haye Saint-Hilaire family maintained ownership of the castle from its construction until 2019, when it was put up for sale.
