Château du Bot, Historical castle in Hennebont, France.

Château du Bot is a castle in Hennebont featuring a central body with two perpendicular wings forming an H-shaped plan, covered with plaster and decorated with stone dressings around openings. The structure displays a cohesive architectural composition that organizes the building's facade symmetrically.

Between 1877 and 1883, Ernest de Blignières initiated renovations of the existing structure, appointing architects Léopold Maigné and Ambroise Baudry for the transformation. This period marked a comprehensive redesign of the castle according to the owner's taste.

The interior rooms display orientalist designs with Egyptian architectural elements, reflecting the owner's art collection gathered during his time in Cairo. These spaces show a personal passion for Arab culture visible in every detail.

The castle remains a private residence of the de Blignières family and can only be visited during special occasions and organized guided tours. It is advisable to check ahead for available visiting dates, as access is not freely available.

The ground floor rooms designed by Ambroise Baudry incorporate materials and decorative elements from demolished ancient structures in Egypt. These original components create distinct oriental patterns that give the castle an authentic Egyptian dimension.
