Construction of the basilica started in 1911 with the choir section, and the building was officially consecrated in 1948 following World War II.
The interior houses a white marble high altar from 1825, decorated with small statues originally from the former Belley seminary.
The church measures 57 meters in length and 24 meters in width, with the main nave reaching a height of 8.72 meters.
A large rose window measuring 5 meters in diameter illuminates the facade, which displays mosaics depicting the bust of Christ.
