The Puy de Mur rises to 592 meters, presenting views of the Allier River meanders and the Chaîne des Puys mountain range.
Ancient vineyards once covered the slopes of Puy de Mur, with remaining structures including a medieval castle, Romanesque church, and dovecote.
The summit features an orientation table that identifies geographical points across the Limagne plain and towards Pont du Château.
The circular hiking trail extends 14 kilometers with a 550-meter elevation gain, starting from the wash house parking area in Vertaizon.
