Cap de la Coume de Dourdies

The Cap de la Coume de Dourdies reaches an elevation of 1,955 meters above sea level in the Pyrenees mountain range near the Pic de la Calabasse.

The summit became part of the Parc naturel régional des Pyrénées ariégeoises during the establishment of this protected natural area to preserve local mountain ecosystems.

Local mountain communities maintain traditional shepherding practices in the surrounding valleys, continuing centuries-old methods of seasonal livestock management in the Pyrenees region.

Hikers can access the summit through multiple marked trails, with the Cabane Col de La Terme mountain shelter located approximately 300 meters from the peak.

The summit presents a minimal prominence of five meters from the surrounding terrain, making it a distinctive geographical feature within the French Pyrenean landscape.
