Château Malleret, Listed historical monument in Cadaujac, France

Château Malleret is a mansion with neoclassical design, featuring a Mansard roof and a double flight staircase as its main architectural elements. The estate includes formal French gardens laid out with marble basins and fountains throughout the grounds.

A Bordeaux Parliament lawyer named Guillaume Malleret purchased the property around 1700, anchoring it in local history. The structure gained its present form through major renovations in 1860 that gave it its distinctive appearance.

The rooms inside feature 19th-century furnishings arranged to display collections of objects in cabinet-like displays. This arrangement shows how wealthy families of that era liked to showcase and organize their valuable possessions.

The property can only be visited by advance reservation, so you should arrange your visit ahead of time to ensure access. Tours are conducted in small groups, allowing good access to the various rooms and garden areas.

Two terracotta lions that were once stolen and later discovered in a Paris antique shop now stand between the mansion and the Garonne River. These sculptures carry a colorful past that adds to the estate's character.
