Église Saint-Étienne-et-Sainte-Catherine de Schnersheim, Fortified church in Schnersheim, France.
This church combines Neoclassical architecture from the late 18th century with a preserved 13th-century Romanesque bell tower from the original medieval structure.
The current church was built in 1887 to replace the medieval church, of which only the Romanesque bell tower base and a sculpted capital remain.
The church features eight stained glass windows created by master glassmaker Jacques Le Chevallier in 1955, depicting religious themes and adding spiritual significance to the building.
The church is located at 48.657064 latitude and 7.568791 longitude on Rue du Général de Gaulle and can be contacted at 03 88 50 75 38.
In 1559, the entire village population was forced to adopt Protestant faith following the Reformation, then returned to Catholicism in 1595 under episcopal influence.
