Roc d'Ormea

The Roc d'Orméa rises to 1132 meters above sea level, featuring a steep western pyramid of rock that rises above the Mediterranean coastline.

The summit stands as a natural border marker between France and Italy, marking centuries of territorial delineation in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

At the peak, visitors encounter an oratory containing traditional ex-voto offerings alongside Nepali prayer flags, representing a mixture of religious traditions.

Multiple hiking trails lead to the summit, including the GR 52 path and routes from Castellar village, with the final ascent at Col du Berceau.

From the summit, observers can view a panorama spanning from Vintimille to Cap d'Antibes, with the Mercantour peaks visible to the north.
