The Tête des Caires summit reaches an elevation of 1000 meters in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, overlooking surrounding valleys and the Grand Vallon.

This elevation marks the eastern boundary of the Baronnies, featuring limestone formations from the Upper Jurassic period of an ancient Alpine ocean.

The residents of the neighboring village of Le Caire maintain traditional agricultural practices on the mountain slopes.

Hikers can reach the summit from the parking area in Le Caire village, which sits at an elevation of 786 meters.

The mountain flanks display characteristic geological folds creating patterns that resemble elephant skin textures.
