Our Lady of Children

Our Lady of Children basilica sits on a hilltop and displays Gothic features such as flying buttresses, pinnacles, and gargoyles made from tufa stone. Inside, a notable 1889 organ fills the space with music during concerts and religious services.

Priest Jacques-Marie Ducros began construction in 1861 after discovering the parish church in ruins, gathering funds from children throughout France. The project reflected the devotion of believers who worked toward completing this sanctuary.

The sanctuary draws people who come to pray and take part in gatherings throughout the year. These practices shape daily life around the basilica and connect visitors with the local community.

The best way to explore the building is to walk up from the base of the hill, taking in the architectural details along the way. Summer concerts offer a good opportunity to experience the interior and how sound fills the space.

Near the main altar, walls display numerous thank-you plaques written by visitors expressing their personal gratitude. These handwritten messages show how people have turned to this place during important moments in their lives.
