The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie occupies 8,000 square meters within the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, featuring courtyards, gardens, galleries, and exhibition spaces.
Located in a 12th-century building reconstructed by architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot in the 18th century, this museum opened its doors on October 19, 2019.
The museum presents exhibitions connecting food traditions with medical practices through artifacts displayed in the former hospital's apothecary shops.
Visitors can access the museum via Metro lines A and D at Bellecour station, with opening hours from Wednesday to Sunday between 11:00 and 19:00.
Chef Alain Alexanian leads culinary demonstrations where local producers and chefs share their knowledge through tastings and workshops.
