Château de Lasserre

Château de Lasserre is a castle in Montastruc-la-Conseillère built from pink Toulouse bricks, featuring two interior courtyards and a 16th-century terrace. The structure sits within forested grounds and contains multiple wings with numerous rooms and living spaces.

The castle originated as a feudal holding of Sicard Alaman in the Middle Ages and was rebuilt in 1559 by architect Nicolas Bachelier for the Bernuy family. This reconstruction transformed the property into a Renaissance-era residence.

The castle serves as a venue for art exhibitions and automobile auctions organized by the Machoïr auction house. Visitors can experience how the property is used today to host cultural and commercial events throughout the year.

King Henry IV and his troops stayed at the castle in 1570 under the command of Gaspard II de Coligny during a military campaign. This royal visit shows the strategic importance the property held during this turbulent period.
