Château de Sourniac, Medieval castle in Sourniac, France.

The stone castle features three round towers surrounding the main residence, with a neo-Romanesque chapel adding to its architectural composition.

Built in 1636 on the site of an earlier fortress destroyed by English forces under Robert Knolles in the 14th century.

The castle represents the architectural transition between medieval defensive structures and Renaissance-style noble residences in the Cantal region.

Located at 630 meters altitude east of the village and north of Mauriac, the private property requires advance arrangements for visits.

A one-hectare pond near the castle enhances the property, while the neo-Gothic openings of the chapel reflect architectural modifications from 1890.
