Grave of Lemoine

The Grave of Lemoine is located in Passy Cemetery, a large burial ground holding around 2,600 graves in Paris's 16th arrondissement. The site sits close enough to the Eiffel Tower for its outline to be visible above the headstones.

Passy Cemetery opened in 1820 as part of Napoleon I's plan to establish burial grounds outside Paris's central areas. This grave in Division 9 became part of that new urban burial system.
