Sukhumi botanical garden

Sukhumi Botanical Garden is a large green space holding thousands of plant species from the region and other parts of the world. The different sections are connected by walking paths that let you move between the various collections.

This garden was founded in 1840 and initially existed to provide food for soldiers stationed nearby. Over time it transformed into a place focused on scientific study and plant collections.
