Likhni Church

Likhni Church is a brick building with a central dome supported by four pillars and three protruding apses on its eastern side. An upper gallery runs along the western side, completing the traditional church layout.

The building dates to the 10th century and contains an inscription from 1066 documenting a comet's appearance. This astronomical event is corroborated by historical records from other regions.

The interior contains painted biblical scenes and depictions of local rulers on its walls from different periods. These overlapping artistic layers show how the church served as a place where religious and political authority came together over centuries.

The church is located in an area with restricted access, so guided visits are recommended. Planning ahead is important to understand any access limitations before traveling.

A comet from the 11th century is recorded in an inscription at the site and confirmed by records from distant regions. This connection between local events and international historical records is particularly rare for medieval church buildings.
