Old Carpet Factory, Historical mansion in Hydra, Greece
The Old Carpet Factory stands as a grand residence with stone arches, geometric designs, high ceilings, and an open terrace facing the harbor of Hydra island.
Built in the late 18th century by Venetian architects for Admiral Anastasios Tsamados's family, the mansion later transformed into a carpet weaving factory under Nicholas Soutzoglou.
The building currently houses an art residency program and recording studio, where international musicians and artists create and collaborate in its historical spaces.
Visitors can explore the mansion during summer exhibitions, which display antique carpets produced on-site alongside contemporary art installations and multimedia presentations.
The lower section of this former carpet factory now functions as a professional recording studio, utilizing the exceptional acoustics created by its original architectural design.
