Äänekoski

Äänekoski is a town in Central Finland spread across a broad territory shaped by water and forests. The landscape includes several sizeable lakes and numerous smaller water bodies that dot the surroundings and define the local geography.

The settlement began in the 18th century when fishers and hunters established themselves in the area. It later became an independent administrative region through the joining of surrounding communities.
