Kumtähden kenttä

Kumtähden kenttä is a sports field with a flat grass surface in Kumpula, surrounded by mature trees and walking paths. The grounds offer ample space for various activities and are crossed by several paved routes.

The area developed from the 1800s as part of Helsinki's northern expansion. It became a recreational site for the growing population of the Kumpula district.

Local residents gather here for neighborhood events, sports activities, and outdoor recreation during the warmer months. The open field serves as a meeting ground for various community groups and regular training sessions from surrounding neighborhoods.

The field is easily reached by public transportation, with several bus stops and tram stations within walking distance. There are no entrance fees and the space is freely accessible during daylight hours.

Every Thursday evening during the summer months, enthusiastic Ultimate Frisbee players from across the city gather for regular training on the field. This weekly practice has become an established tradition for this sports community.
