Kajaani City Theatre, Municipal theatre in Kajaani, Finland
The Kajaani City Theatre contains a main stage with 186 seats and the Sissilinna stage dedicated to youth productions.
The establishment started as an ensemble-based repertory theatre more than 100 years ago, becoming one of Finland's five regional theatres.
The theatre presents five new productions annually, performing 300 shows that combine Finnish premieres with contemporary international works.
Located 250 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle, the theatre serves 300,000 people across 38 municipalities in Kainuu and Northern Ostrobothnia.
One third of all performances take place during regional tours, bringing theatrical arts to remote communities in northern Finland.
