Mohokos, Mountain summit in Međimurje County, Croatia.
Mohokos is a mountain summit in the Međimurje region of northern Croatia that stands at 344 meters high. The slopes around the peak are dotted with meadows, vineyards, and fruit orchards that create a rural landscape.
The summit marks an eastern boundary point of the Alpine range and represents a geographical transition in northern Croatia. A stone marker with a polished plaque was installed at the peak in 1999 to designate its status as the highest point in Međimurje.
The peak forms part of the terminal easternmost slopes of the Alps, representing a significant geographical transition point in northern Croatian territory.
Multiple hiking trails lead to the summit, with the route from Čakovec taking roughly three and a half hours to complete. Proper footwear and water are recommended since the path crosses open fields and grassland.
From the peak, visitors can see a wide range of surrounding mountains including Kalnik, Ivanščica, and Strahinjščica as well as peaks across the Slovenian border. On clear days, the view extends remarkably far across the regional landscape.
