Budapest District XVI

Budapest District XVI is an administrative area in the northeastern part of the city, made up of neighborhoods including Mátyásföld, Sashalom, Cinkota, and Rákosszentmihály. The district is primarily residential, with local amenities and transportation links connecting it to downtown Budapest.

The district was created on January 1, 1950, when Budapest incorporated several independent communities into the city, bringing the total number of districts to 23. This administrative reorganization reshaped the city's structure by integrating the northeastern communities.
