Castle of Csókakő, Medieval castle ruins in Vértes Mountains, Hungary.

The Castle of Csókakő stands at 500 meters elevation on a limestone cliff, featuring restored white towers and walls visible from distant locations.

Built after the 1241 Tatar invasion, the fortress monitored the military route to Székesfehérvár until its capture by Ottoman forces in the 16th century.

The castle structure reveals architectural elements from different periods, including a Gothic gate tower from King Sigismund's reign and remnants of a Turkish mosque.

Visitors can access the castle daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM between April and October, with reduced hours from November through March.

The fortress differs from other Vértes fortifications by its position among vineyards rather than forests, requiring shorter defensive walls due to its hilltop location.
