Medieval Saint Adalbertus Achcathedral, Medieval cathedral and minor basilica on Castle Hill, Esztergom, Hungary.

The Saint Adalbertus Cathedral features a massive central dome reaching 100 meters in height with walls measuring 17 meters in thickness.

The first cathedral on this site was constructed between 1001 and 1010 under Stephen I of Hungary, marking the establishment of Christianity in the region.

The Renaissance Bakócz Chapel, dismantled into 1600 pieces and reassembled within the cathedral, stands as Hungary's sole complete Renaissance structure.

Visitors can explore four distinct levels of the cathedral, including the Treasury, which displays historical liturgical instruments and coronation ceremonial items.

The cathedral houses the world's largest single-canvas painting, measuring 13.5 by 6.6 meters, depicting The Assumption of Mary by Michelangelo Grigoletti.
