Meehambee Dolmen, Neolithic portal tomb in County Roscommon, Ireland.
The Meehambee Dolmen consists of six upright megaliths supporting a massive 24-tonne capstone that rests at a 45-degree angle against the forest edge.
Two local children discovered stone axes near the dolmen in the 1960s, leading to archaeological investigations that revealed its origins from around 3500 BC.
The structure was known locally as Leabaidh Éirn during the 1930s and represents one of over 1,200 documented dolmens across Ireland's landscape.
Visitors can reach the megalithic site via a bridle path from the R362 regional road in Bellanamullia village, near the western outskirts of Athlone.
The portal stone supporting the rear of the capstone has collapsed, causing the massive top stone to shift from its original horizontal position.
