Lions' Gate, Archaeological site in Jerusalem
The Lions' Gate is an entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.
It was built by Suleiman the Magnificent in 1538.
The gate's name is due to the pair of lion carvings that flank it.
It is located in the eastern wall, facing the Mount of Olives.
It is also known as St. Stephen's Gate, associated with the martyrdom of Saint Stephen.
