Sidna Ali Mosque, Medieval mosque at Mediterranean coast, Herzliya, Israel
The stone mosque stands on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with a central dome and geometric patterns adorning its walls.
Built during the Ayyubid period near ancient Apollonia ruins, the mosque contained the tomb of Muslim saint Ali Ibn Alil until 1948.
The mosque remains an active religious center where Muslims from neighboring communities gather for Friday prayers and religious celebrations.
Visitors can access the mosque through a paved pathway from the adjacent parking area, with separate prayer sections for men and women.
The mosque structure includes underground water channels carved into rocks, connecting to an ancient water collection system beneath the building.
