Train Track Park, Rail trail park in Jerusalem, Israel

Train Track Park sits on the route of a former railway line and extends several kilometers through the city in a long, narrow shape. The space provides separate areas for walking and cycling, with many spots to sit and rest along the way.

The railway that once ran along this route was built during Ottoman times and stopped operating in the late 1900s. The abandoned tracks were later transformed into a public green space for the city.

The park serves as a connector between different neighborhoods, creating a shared space where residents and visitors move through the city together. Walking along the former tracks, you encounter various spots where people gather, rest, and observe daily life around them.

The park won the 2013 Design Award in urban design at the annual Israel Conference for Architecture and Design, and the 2013 Karavan Prize for Landscape and Garden Architecture from the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality. Both are Israeli awards, not international ones.
