Akal Takht, Sikh temple in India
The Akal Takht is one of five takhts (seats of power) in Sikhism.
It was built by Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Sikh Guru, in 1606.
The Akal Takht serves as the central altar for Sikh political assembly.
Located in the Golden Temple complex of Amritsar, it's a must-visit for anyone touring Punjab.
Its name translates to 'Throne of the Timeless One'.
