Kedartal, Glacial lake in India
Kedartal, also known as Shiva's lake, is a spectacular glacial lake situated in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas in India.
The lake is believed to be the contribution of melting snow from the Thalay Sagar, Meru, and Bhrigupanth peaks, which are sites of historic mountaineering expeditions.
It is a revered site for Hindus, reflecting the deep spiritual connection attributed to the surrounding peaks and waters of Kedartal.
Trekking to Kedartal requires proper equipment and acclimatization as it involves traversing rugged terrain at high altitudes.
At an elevation of around 4,750 meters, Kedartal offers one of the secluded high-altitude camping experiences amidst the Indian Himalayas.
