Sat Deul

Sat Deul is a brick temple featuring a curvilinear tower decorated with detailed patterns and topped by a traditional finial. The structure follows a five-part ground plan and displays characteristic architectural features from the region's early building traditions.

The temple dates to the 10th and 11th centuries and represents Jain religious architecture of that period. It survived the later political changes in the region and has endured to the present day.

The walls display intricate stucco work over carved bricks with floral and geometric designs. These decorations show the skilled craftsmanship of the artisans who built the structure.

The temple is located about 3.5 kilometers from Chanchai railway station and can be reached via the Memari-Tarakeswar Road. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and watch the local paths to explore the site safely.

The building follows a five-part ground plan that sets it apart from most other temples of its time. This uncommon layout makes it an important example of Jain construction methods in the region.
