Imamzadeh Saleh

Imamzadeh Saleh is a Shia mausoleum situated near Tajrish Square in northern Tehran. The building features thick walls, a spacious interior, and is decorated with silver ornaments and mirror mosaics that adorn its inner spaces.

The structure was founded during the reign of the Ilkhan Ghazan in the early Islamic era, as marked by an inscribed dedication. It represents architecture that evolved across centuries, with additions from later Persian periods that left their mark on the design.

The site draws believers who come to pray and spend time in quiet reflection within its sacred space. It remains an active place of worship where visitors can observe devotional practices that continue to shape the daily spiritual life of the community.

The mausoleum sits at an elevation of around 1600 meters near Tajrish Square and welcomes visitors year-round. The site is relatively easy to access and is regularly maintained, so visitors encounter a clean and secure setting.

The building features aina-kari, a traditional mirror mosaic technique that reflects light in unexpected ways throughout the interior. This old craft creates a shifting interplay of light that makes the space feel different depending on the time of day.
