Shazdeh Garden

Shazdeh Garden is a garden in Kerman Province with a rectangular layout built on multiple levels connected by paths and water channels. A two-story residential building sits at the end, forming the focal point of the entire composition.

This garden was created in the late 1800s and shows design approaches common during the Qajar period. It represents an important example of how gardens were built during that era in this region.

The garden shows traditional Persian design through its balanced layout and water features that catch your eye everywhere you walk. Visitors notice how water and plants work together to create a pattern that flows across the entire space.

The garden is located about 6 km from the city of Mahan and is open daily for visitors. The grounds are easy to explore on foot, though sturdy shoes help when walking the paths and steps.

What makes this place remarkable is that the many fountains work without pumps and move water using only natural height differences. This ancient system continues to function without electricity today.
