Marble Throne, Royal throne in District 12, Tehran, Iran

The Marble Throne, constructed from 65 pieces of Yazd marble, features detailed carvings of human figures, fairies, and demons on its supporting structure.

Built between 1747 and 1751 under the direction of Mirza Baba Shirazi and stonecutter Mohammad Ebrahim Esfahani, the throne became central to Iranian royal ceremonies.

The throne combines Persian architectural elements with royal symbolism, representing power through its elevated position and intricate marble craftsmanship.

Visitors can access the throne within the Golestan Palace complex, where guided tours explain the detailed stonework and historical significance.

Two massive stone columns supporting the throne's balcony were transported from Shiraz to Tehran by order of Agha Mohammad Khan.
