Aghazadeh Mansion

Aghazadeh Mansion is a residential building from the Qajar period in Abarkuh, constructed from adobe bricks, stone, and clay. The structure features multiple rooms arranged around a central courtyard that contains a large stone pool.

The building was constructed during the Qajar dynasty and belonged to Seyyed Hossein Abarghooi, a wealthy resident of Abarkuh. It received national heritage status in 1997.

The mansion's name honors its former owner, and the rooms follow traditional Persian residential patterns centered around a courtyard. The layout reflects how people once adapted their living spaces to seasons and family life.

The mansion opens daily and sits about one hour south of Yazd city. Access is straightforward, though the building is located in an older residential area.

The house features a tall windcatcher designed for natural cooling in this hot climate. This traditional ventilation system shows how residents created comfort before modern air conditioning.
