Amir Chakhmaq Mosque

The governor of Yazd, Jalal ed-Din Amir Chakhmaq Shami, ordered the construction of this religious complex, which reached completion in 1438.

This mosque stands as the second largest religious structure in Yazd, featuring Persian text carvings, brick patterns, and mosaic inscriptions throughout its interior.

The mosque remains open to visitors who can examine the traditional Persian architectural elements while maintaining respect for active religious practices.

The building materials combine brick, plaster, and decorative tiles to create distinct geometric patterns that characterize the Timurid architectural period.
