Amir Chakhmaq Mosque

Amir Chakhmaq Mosque is a Timurid place of worship in Yazd featuring a three-level facade with symmetrical alcoves and two minarets rising above it. The design creates a courtyard space in front while interior prayer halls showcase decorative surfaces made from brick and tile.

Governor Jalal ed-Din Amir Chakhmaq Shami commissioned this structure and saw its completion in 1438, establishing a major center in the city. The construction style reflects Timurid architecture, which was reshaping the region during that era and introducing new design approaches.
