On ibn Ali's shrine

On ibn Ali's shrine is a religious complex in Tabriz that contains two tombs beneath six domes with two minarets on the northern slope of Mount Eynali. The structure features multiple entrances that allow visitors to access the complex and observe traditional Persian architectural styles throughout the building.

The shrine originated as a Zoroastrian fire temple and was converted into a mosque during the Rashidun conquest before becoming a mausoleum in the Ilkhanate period. An earthquake in 1641 destroyed the original structure, after which it was rebuilt and modified during the Qajar era.

The shrine serves as a place of prayer and spiritual reflection for Shia Muslims who visit regularly to pay respects and spend time in quiet devotion. Many worshippers come here to experience the religious atmosphere and connect with the sacred space.
