Pozzallo

Pozzallo is a coastal town along southern Sicily's Mediterranean shore with four sandy beaches stretching along the water's edge. The settlement sits at a strategic location serving as a major port between Sicily and Malta.

Torre Cabrera was built in 1429 and served as a watchtower protecting the settlement from sea-based attacks during medieval times. This structure shows how coastal defense shaped the early development of the settlement.

The main square is surrounded by historic buildings and tall palms where locals and visitors gather throughout the day. This central area reflects how life here is deeply connected to maritime tradition.

Visitors easily reach both the port and beaches on foot from the center of town. The best time to visit is May through September when weather is stable and the sea is ideal for swimming.

Several beaches here carry the Blue Flag certification, an international mark for exceptional water quality and environmental standards. This award is given to only a few Mediterranean locations and underscores the region's strong ecological commitment.
