Gattinara

Gattinara is a small commune in the Province of Vercelli in Piedmont, located roughly 80 kilometers northeast of Turin. The historical center sits across gently rolling hills known for vineyards that shape the landscape.

Mercurino Arborio was an influential statesman and jurist from the town who served in Rome during the 15th and 16th centuries. His prominence brought attention to the region and established the name Gattinara across Italy.
