Sant'Agata de' Goti

Sant'Agata de' Goti stands on a hilltop between two ravines, with stone walls rising from the bedrock at an elevation of 35 kilometers northeast of Naples.

The medieval settlement originated from the ancient Samnite town of Saticula, later governed by the Gascon De Goth family who influenced its current name in the 14th century.

The Cathedral of the Assumption exhibits architectural elements from multiple periods, including a Romanesque crypt containing fragments from Roman structures beneath its foundations.
