Tavullia, Municipality in Marche region, Italy
Tavullia is a municipality in the Marche region of central Italy, spreading across rolling hillsides. The settlement lies roughly 70 kilometers northwest of Ancona and includes several smaller villages such as Babbucce and Belvedere Fogliense.
The settlement developed from a medieval castle called Castrum Montis Pilos Tumbao and was long known by the name Tomba di Pesaro. In 1938, the municipality received its current name as part of administrative changes during that period.
The town honors its patron saint, Saint Lawrence, on August 10 with traditional celebrations that bring the entire community together. These festivities shape local identity and are central to how residents connect with one another.
The municipality consists of several village subdivisions, each providing local services and supporting daily life. Visitors should know that the area is hilly, so having a car or checking public transport options ahead of time can be helpful.
The town's name has become linked with motorsport and has gained international attention through sports connections. This association has given the small settlement a special place in the sporting world beyond its local importance.
